Meet the Witch

Hi, my name is Alicia. I’m a native Portlander, midwife, and mama to three wonderful kiddos. I have been providing placenta encapsulation services to families in the greater Portland area for 10 years (formerly with Tree of Life Placenta Services). I come from a lineage of placenta workers before me and would like to name my learning lineage to honor the traditional practice that has been passed on to me. I learned from Kelsey Fisher, who learned from Raeben Nolan, who learned from Raven Lang, who learned from Miriam Wu, who learned from a traditional practitioner in China. Raeben Nolan first founded Tree of Life Placenta Services that was eventually passed on to Kelsey Fisher who has now passed the flame to me. I have chosen to shift the practice to The Placenta Witch PDX in order to align it more with myself and make it my own.

I had a wonderful experience with the encapsulation of my own placenta after the birth of my first child and want to help others have a positive postpartum experience as well. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, being near the ocean, archery, kickboxing, going for long walks in my neighborhood, listening to audiobooks/podcasts and crocheting.
